Our Depot Managers empower our people to make the right decisions, not necessarily the easy ones. You will be responsible for the operational performance of our Home Delivery Service based in Crewe, playing an integral part in enabling the best service to be delivered. You will focus on maintaining high standards regarding operational policies, transport legislation, health and safety, and people management.
We want our Depot Managers to promote a productive and happy environment. You will work alongside our District and Depot Management team to strengthen our future.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
Leadership and Support:
- Lead a motivated and engaged workforce, ensuring a positive working environment that drives success across all teams.
- Foster a fun and supportive culture, ensuring the wellbeing and development of all direct reports through coaching, support, and encouragement.
- Manage self-employed drivers, addressing challenges, managing expectations, and working closely with your Driver Account Manager.
- Execute HR procedures such as investigations, disciplinary meetings, and performance management with fairness and consistency.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor and manage depot performance against Key Performance Indicators to ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage the depot's budget, including cost control and ensuring cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation and operational requirements.
- Maintain high operational efficiency through effective people management and clear performance expectations.
- Provide daily and weekly reports to Districts/Regional Managers, Head Office, and Senior Teams, keeping key stakeholders informed.

- Meet or exceed depot KPIs, including operational, customer satisfaction, and financial targets.
- Deliver high service levels that meet customer expectations and foster loyalty.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and tasks.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of logistics, transport legislation, and operational best practices.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Ability to interpret data, assess performance, and produce accurate reports for decision-making.
- CPC qualification is desirable but not essential.
