Job Title: Ironmongery Warehouse Manager
Responsible to: Ironmongery Director
Job Purpose: To oversee the day-to-day operations of our ironmongery warehouse, including inventory management, goods in/out, packing operations, and transport. Management of a small onsite metal fabrication workshop.
Key Recruitment Criteria:
- Self-motivated and highly organised individual.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet strict criteria.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles, preferably within the ironmongery, building supplies, or construction hardware industry.
- Strong understanding of warehouse procedures and health & safety legislation.
- Knowledge of ironmongery products and their applications (preferred but not essential).
- Proficiency with warehouse management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- C/B Forklift licence (preferred but not essential).
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency.
- Manage stock levels, conduct inventory checks, and keep accurate records using RTIS.
- Ensure timely picking, packing, and dispatch of orders.
- Lead Door Packing operations, controlling order flow as per transport plans.
- Implement health and safety procedures per UK regulations.
- Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff to meet KPIs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments for deliveries and discrepancies.
- Inspect and store incoming goods properly.
- Control movement from off-site storage to on-site shelves.
- Maintain a clean and compliant warehouse environment.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform other duties supporting DATIM's wider business.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain high attention to detail.
- Adopt a positive, proactive attitude.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Build and maintain internal and external relationships, meeting deadlines.
- Utilize strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
- Plan and manage time effectively.
