An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a new central team providing planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and out-of-hours cover for a wide range of newly installed Plant & Equipment. This role is with a well-established Rail transportation client based in Cambridge.
The Team Leader will be hands-on, providing out-of-hours cover on a 1 in 4 rota (an on-call allowance will apply) alongside 3 other Technicians. The working hours are Monday – Friday, 7 hours a day (35 hours per week), during afternoon/evening shifts.
You will lead the team, organize workloads, manage on-call cover, and liaise with management as needed. Ensuring the safety of staff and contractors within this environment is paramount. The role requires travel around the Greater Anglia area to support other sites as needed.
This position is based at the Cambridge Depot and is suited for a multi-skilled engineer with supervisory experience, preferably from property or industrial maintenance backgrounds. Candidates should be electrically and mechanically trained to at least C&G Level 3 or ONC. A recognized safety qualification is required, which can be provided, along with railway-specific training, provided the strict PTS medical fitness criteria are met.
