Job summary

Tempdent is recruiting a Workplace Assessor to support Dental Nursing learners across Surrey and Reading. You will observe and assess learners in real clinical environments and guide them towards their End Point Assessment (EPA).

Role ideal for a qualified dental nurse with mentoring experience who wants to move into education and assessment, visiting practices to assess skills and ensuring progress.

Qualifications

• Qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse and assessor qualification (or willingness to acquire).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
• Experience assessing Dental Nursing qualifications or apprenticeships is beneficial.
• Teaching or training qualification (AiET or willingness to acquire) is a plus.
• Knowledge of work-based learning or apprenticeships is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and carry out workplace assessments for Dental Nursing learners within required timelines.
• Communicate with practice managers and learners when arranging assessment visits.
• Ensure clinical treatments are booked and ready for observation.
• Provide constructive and supportive feedback to learners and employers.
• Manage your assessment diary to maximise opportunities.
• Maintain accurate assessment documentation and prepare learners for EPA.
• Conduct Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities checks in practices.
• Facilitate communication between learners, employers and Tempdent.
• Attend team meetings and standardisation sessions.
• Maintain GDC registration and CPD requirements.

At Tempdent, we support and develop the next generation of Dental Nurses through high-quality training and apprenticeships. We're looking for passionate dental professionals to join our team as Workplace Assessors, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers.

Location: This is a field based role support learners across Surrey and Reading

Salary: For candidates that are not yet CAVA qualified, we will be fully supportive to achieve this qualification with a starting salary of up to £28,500 per annum (pro rata) thisequates to £17,100 per annum for 3 days.

We can offer up to £30,000 per annum pro rata for candidates with relevant qualifications and experience.

This role is ideal for a qualified dental nurse with industry experience who enjoys mentoring others and wants to move into education and assessment.

As a Workplace Assessor, you will support and assess learners completing the Diploma in Dental Nursing, visiting them in their dental practices to observe and assess their skills in real clinical environments.

You’ll work closely with learners, employers and the Tempdent team to ensure apprentices progress successfully and are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment (EPA).

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and carry out workplace assessments for Dental Nursing learners within required timelines
• Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners when arranging assessment visits
• Ensure all relevant clinical treatments are booked and ready for observation
• Provide constructive and supportive feedback to learners and employers
• Manage your own assessment diary to maximise assessment opportunities
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of assessment documentation
• Support a caseload of learners and prepare them for End Point Assessment (EPA)
• Conduct Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities checks within dental practicesFacilitate communication between learners, employers and Tempdent
• Attend team meetings, handovers and standardisation sessions
• Work towards agreed targets and KPIs
• Maintain GDC registration and CPD requirements
• Promote safeguarding, equality, and best practice across all training environments

What we are looking for
