Job summary

Tempdent is seeking a Dental Workplace Assessor to support Dental Nursing learners in a field-based role across Hemel Hempstead. This part-time position (3 days per week, one day must be Tuesday) offers flexible scheduling and the chance to mentor future dental professionals.

You will observe learners in real clinical environments, provide constructive feedback, and help them prepare for End Point Assessments while maintaining GDC registration and CPD requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified GDC registered Dental Nurse with current registration.
• Assessor qualification (CAVA or TAQA) or willingness to acquire.
• Teaching or training qualification (AiET) or willingness to acquire.
• Experience assessing Dental Nursing qualifications or apprenticeships is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage own schedule.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and carry out workplace assessments for Dental Nursing learners within required timelines.
• Communicate effectively with practice managers and learners when arranging assessment visits.
• Ensure all relevant clinical treatments are booked and ready for observation.
• Provide constructive and supportive feedback to learners and employers.
• Manage your own assessment diary to maximise assessment opportunities.
• Maintain accurate and timely completion of assessment documentation.
• Support a caseload of learners and prepare them for End Point Assessment (EPA).
• Conduct Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities checks within dental practices.
• Facilitate communication between learners, employers and Tempdent.
• Attend team meetings, handovers and standardisation sessions.
• Promote safeguarding, equality and best practice across training environments.
