Job summary

Oxford Health is seeking a knowledgeable Dental Nurse Assessor to support and assess an apprentice dental nurse throughout their training journey. The role combines education with clinical duties within a dental team.

The postholder will develop and implement a robust apprenticeship training programme, assess practical competence and underpinning knowledge, and maintain learner records in line with awarding body requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Dental Nurse National Certificate/NVQ Level Oral Health Care.
• GCSEs in Literacy and Numeracy are required.
• Must have an assessor qualification suitable for NEBDN National Diploma.
• Registration with the General Dental Council is required.
• Full and valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust apprenticeship training programme.
• Assess and support apprentice dental nurses in the workplace through planned reviews.
• Monitor learner progress against qualification standards and apprenticeship requirements.
• Provide coaching and feedback to develop clinical knowledge and skills.
• Carry out observations and assessments within required timescales.
• Maintain clinical practice while supporting patient care.
