Job summary

Smiths (Gloucester) Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead demolition projects across the South-West. You will oversee mobilisation to completion, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality on site while coordinating plant, subcontractors and stakeholders.

You will develop method statements, risk assessments and demolition plans, enforce health and safety standards, manage budgets and resources, and report on progress.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager in demolition (or similar)
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Excellent leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Drive project and site success from mobilisation through to completion
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality
• Develop and implement method statements, risk assessments, and demolition plans
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations
• Lead and coordinate subcontractors, workforce, and plant operations
• Monitor progress and adapt plans to keep projects on track
• Build strong relationships with clients, engineers, local authorities and stakeholders
• Manage budgets, resources, and procurement effectively
• Respond to challenges such as structural instability or hazardous materials
