Job summary

Ashmere Derbyshire is hiring a Dementia Care Assistant at Valley Lodge Care Home, Bakewell Road. This full-time role covers 36.75 hours per week over 3 days, focusing on helping residents with meals, personal care and coordinating with professionals.

No formal qualification is required; we offer training, DBS check paid, uniform provided and an attendance bonus. We also support staff with development, pension, Blue Light Card, refer-a-friend incentives, and enhanced pay on bank holidays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Care required or working towards the qualification.
• NVQ Level 3 or working towards is preferred.
• NVQ Level 4 is desirable.

We are looking for local people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and going the extra mile for our residents. We are currently have a vacancy at our Valley Lodge Care home working 36.75 hours a week over 3 days. The dementia support worker role relies on a passion to learn; a passion to enable people with dementia to live well; hold excellent communication skills and the ability to accept a person for who they are.

About The Role

You will be assisting residents with all aspects of their care including assisting with mealtimes and personal care. You will be responsible for administrating medication and liaising with outside professionals.

Your experience in dementia doesn’t necessarily need to be paid experience, you might have cared for a family member or friend. Don’t worry about needing any formal qualification, we can support you with this should you be successful in gaining a role with us.

We will pay you an attendance bonus just for turning up to work!
