Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a Dementia Activity Coordinator to lead a caring team and deliver a diverse programme of activities for people living with dementia. You will ensure safety, plan sessions, and work with health professionals to promote wellbeing and social connection.

You will guide staff, maintain records, and review care plans to meet changing needs, while upholding safeguarding, MCA and DoLS principles in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualification in social care (QCF, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience leading, supporting and supervising a team.
• Experience in dementia care with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of safeguarding, MCA, DoLS and essential standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the care team.
• Oversee running of activities to ensure engaging, safe and person-centred service.
• Plan and coordinate a diverse programme of meaningful activities.
• Develop understanding of service users' strengths and needs; collaborate with health professionals.
• Maintain accurate records including support plans and risk assessments.
• Assess and review care plans, implementing changes as required.
