Your new role
We are seeking a forward-thinking Demand & Scheduling Manager to lead the integrated planning and scheduling function at our Ellesmere Port site, part of the Beaufort Division of the company. This pivotal role ensures customer requirements are met through effective coordination of demand forecasting, production scheduling, capacity planning, logistics, and order processing. As the second-in-command within the Operations function, the role is instrumental in executing business strategies, optimizing performance, and maintaining high levels of efficiency and service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-oriented leader with a strong background in operational management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. They build strong working relationships across departments, ensuring alignment and smooth communication.
This role offers a clear development pathway as part of a succession plan toward the Head of Operations position. As a strategic partner to the current Head of Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping long-term business goals and driving operational strategy.
What you can expect from the role
·Own and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Master Capacity Plan in alignment with sales forecasts, customer orders, and operational constraints.
·Schedule and optimize workflow across internal and external work centres, balancing capacity, and material availability.
·Collaborate cross functionally to ensure seamless execution from order to delivery.
·Oversee sales order processing, ensuring accuracy, timely entry, and coordination of customer orders.
·Maintain control of the order book, driving performance against On Time In Full (OTIF) targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
·Manage inbound and outbound freight operations, ensuring timely delivery in line with production schedules and customer requirements.
·Ensure pre-production readiness, including export compliance, financial controls, configuration verification, and risk mitigation via checklists and risk registers.
·Lead and develop the team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
·Develop and maintain relevant KPIs.
·Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and bespoke customer orders while managing lead-time variability and learning curves.
