A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the leading Suppliers/Distributors of automotive/bike accessories and apparel. This innovative and exciting business also has its own well recognised and successful brands.

Based on the Derbyshire/Notts border, this is an easily accessible site for commuting from the East Midlands.

We are looking for a data driven Demand Planner who will be responsible for ensuring product demand is met. Monitoring forecasts, analysing sales data and ensuring stock levels are optimised in line with demand and inventory targets, maximising sales and minimising risk for the business.

Hybrid working will be considered following completion of successful probation and training period.

Demand Planner - Responsibilities

  • Work with the Demand Manager to develop effective forecast models tailored for each brand, product, industry trends, and demand patterns.
  • Review sales forecasts to ensure alignment with historical data and business growth strategy.
  • Produce annual and monthly demand plans based on agreed forecasts for new and existing models.
  • Analyse sales and inventory data to monitor product and brand performance against forecast for each territory. Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
  • Attend regular meetings with Brand Managers and sales teams to review brand performance, often down to SKU level, and provide updates on availability.
  • Highlight areas of concern, provide risk assessments, and suggest mitigation activities. Take a proactive, data-led approach to address demand-related issues promptly and effectively.
  • Review the impact of demand changes/deviations on the budget and communicate findings to the senior team.
  • Monitor and report on action points from brand review meetings, such as the success of specific campaigns and territory performance.
  • Communicate with internal teams to gather information on factors impacting demand, like promotions and production delays.
  • Collaborate closely with the Supply team to ensure forecasts and demand plans are communicated accurately, considering supply capabilities.
  • Plan intake (PO) requirements in line with demand, ensuring requirements are met to optimise sales.
  • Work daily with the Supply team to align supply and demand.
  • Participate in regular meetings with Brand Managers, Sales, and Supply teams to ensure a strong cross-functional process in line with S&OP procedures.

Demand Planner - Requirements

  • Degree in business, supply chain, or related fields (preferred but not essential; experience may be considered).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in merchandising, demand planning, or forecasting roles.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Highly analytical, capable of analysing data and creating reports using Excel.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions to mitigate business risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Additional languages beyond English are a plus.
  • Proficient in software tools: Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
