Job summary

B&S Group (Laxmico Ltd) is seeking a Transport Planner to plan, optimise and manage delivery routes, reducing mileage and costs while maintaining high customer service. You will use Samsara for fleet planning, coordinate with bookings, and generate regular transport performance reports to drive efficiency.

Key responsibilities include daily route optimisation, depot coordination, and maintaining accurate route data in WMS/Samsara, with a focus on meeting delivery schedules.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent geographical knowledge and route-planning ability.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good knowledge of transport operations, vehicle capacity and delivery scheduling.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimise daily delivery routes on a regular basis.
• Allocate new deliveries to suitable routes based on capacity and requirements.
• Use Samsara to plan allocation of new customers and routes to depots/sites.
• Update Samsara with route IDs and sequence changes daily.
• Update WMS with correct route IDs and sequences.
• Review and adjust routes periodically to improve efficiency and growth.
• Communicate delays and disruptions to the customer services team and provide solutions.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly transport performance reports.
