Job summary

Strive Supply Chain is seeking a hands-on Transport Planner to coordinate daily skip and RoRo transport operations in a busy waste management setting. You will plan routes, optimise vehicle utilisation and ensure reliable customer service.

The role requires cost and efficiency focus, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, clear communication with drivers and ops teams, and identifying opportunities to reduce mileage and transport costs. Office-based at Cassington with standard hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, routing or scheduling.
• Experience in route optimisation and improving transport efficiency.
• Experience coordinating vehicle allocations, driver schedules and daily transport operations.
• Good working knowledge of UK transport regulations, including drivers' hours and working time requirements.
• Experience using transport planning, routing or Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily skip and RoRo deliveries, collections and exchanges for c30vehicles.
• Review upcoming bookings and optimise routes to maximise vehicle and driver utilisation.
• Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary mileage, fuel consumption, overtime and failed jobs.
• Monitor daily transport activities, adjusting routes and schedules in response to operational changes.
• Coordinate driver schedules, route allocations and delivery instructions.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, Customer Service, Sales and operational teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Handle driver calls and resolve day-to-day operational issues, including access difficulties, failed deliveries and rerouting.
• Maintain accurate transport planning records and support compliance with health & safety requirements.
