Job description

Summary:

Are you a strategic driver who thrives on turning complex regulatory frameworks into seamless operational delivery?

Do you have the executive presence to guide Board-level reporting and the detail-oriented rigor to master Ofwat’s requirements?

In this critical position, you will own the end-to-end integrity of our Price Control Deliverables (PCDs) and regulatory reporting framework. You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy and compliance, transforming data into trusted insights for executive leadership while ensuring our submissions meet the highest standards of accuracy through robust third-party assurance.

Main responsibilities:
  • Assurance framework oversight: Design, implement, and oversee the reporting assurance framework for the Delivery Plan. Establish a process to implement robust internal controls and audit trails across all regulatory reporting streams.

  • Internal reporting: Lead regular reporting of Delivery Plan performance to the Executive and Board.

  • Third party assurance: Own the relationship with third-party assurers on PCDs. Lead on defining scope, managing audit schedules and presenting findings to internal audiences.

  • Reporting calendar: Support the development, implementations, and maintenance of the regulatory reporting framework and master calendar governing all regulator-facing submissions.

  • Regulatory returns: Lead the strategy, compilation, challenge, and executive sign-off for Delivery Plan reporting. Support other regulatory returns as required.

  • Data standards: Support the establishment and enforcement of strict reporting standards (templates, style guidelines, audit trails, and evidence rules) to ensure cross-document narrative and data consistency across all publications.

  • Regulatory policy: Proactively engage with regulators and industry forums to review, influence, and streamline emerging reporting guidelines for PCDs.

You’ll need:

  • Reporting framework & project management: Strong organisational and project management skills to build and maintain regulatory calendars across multi-departmental submission cycles.

  • Leadership & influence: Proven ability to influence and challenge internal operational data owners, collaborate with senior executives, and direct external technical assurers.

  • Proactive continuous improvement: A solution-oriented mindset focused on improving reporting processes and quality controls.

  • Professional experience in a regulated industry (preferably in utilities or water sectors) is a significant advantage.
