Job Description:

The Delivery Partner Manager is both an advisor and an operational partner to Delivery Service Partners (DSPs). They assist and guide DSP business owners in building and growing successful last-mile package delivery businesses within Amazon Logistics (AMZL). The role involves helping to start new businesses and maintaining high standards of excellence. The manager will work alongside Regional On The Road (OTR) managers, focusing on transitioning responsibilities related to planning and DSP capability.

The Delivery Partner Manager identifies and executes value-creation opportunities and manages relationships throughout the business lifecycle, focusing on DSP sentiment, safety, compliance, performance, and capacity. They act as trusted advisors, working with DSPs to solve challenges, influence business strategies, and ensure effective decision-making for success and quality delivery.

The role involves working with a portfolio of owners at various stages, setting strategies, driving accountability, and tracking performance metrics. Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Partner Relations, Value Added Services, Legal, fleet, and network health teams is essential. The manager supports owners by removing obstacles and improving operational, financial, and safety practices, as well as enforcing policies and building feedback channels with relevant teams.

This position is field-based, requiring significant travel between sites and flexibility to work hours including overnight, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety: Partner with OTR Safety and Regional Managers to ensure safety compliance.
  • Performance: Support scaling operations, onboarding new owners, and preparing for peak periods.
  • Performance: Coach and upskill DSP owners using AMZL tools.
  • Performance: Identify opportunities for customer metric improvements.
  • Performance: Ensure consistent application of Last Mile processes and challenge UTR processes affecting OTR.
  • Performance: Coach owners to run compliant, safe, and high-performing companies.
  • Experience: Improve workflows and operational efficiency at the network level.
  • Experience: Develop and maintain positive relationships with DSP partners.
  • Experience: Align communication with DSP owners through collaboration with OTR teams.
  • Representation: Be the voice of DSPs within Amazon and advocate for their needs.
  • Driver Standards: Enhance driver standards to protect Amazon’s brand image.
  • Capacity Management: Work with DSPs to deliver effective ramp plans and meet peak volume demands.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A degree.
  • Relevant professional experience in Operations, Last Mile, account or relationship management, small business logistics, or retail/vendor management.
  • Experience working with third-party resources regionally or nationally.
  • Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading process improvements with Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Project planning experience in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
