Job summary

National Energy System Operator (NESO) is seeking a Delivery Manager in Market Change Delivery. You will oversee end-to-end delivery plans, governance, and commercial management across multi‑vendor technology products supporting energy system operations.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and the ability to drive operational readiness and release readiness in a hybrid working environment based in Warwick or Wokingham.

Qualifications

• Strong delivery leadership in multi-team, multi-vendor tech environments.
• Excellent understanding of business objectives and stakeholder landscape; can challenge decisions with insight.
• Proven delivery governance: RAID management, milestone planning, reporting, roadmap alignment, dependency oversight.
• Strong project and programme management including cost management, budgeting, and investment governance.
• Experience leading commercial activities: RFPs, vendor negotiations, contract management, supplier performance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain end-to-end delivery plans with realistic milestones and resource needs.
• Manage RAID with discipline and provide early warnings of risks with mitigation actions.
• Build relationships across business, product, platform, and vendor teams to ensure alignment.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial governance across the product lifecycle.
• Drive investment governance, including approvals, business-case updates, steering committees, and project closure.
• Oversee contract performance, scope control, and commercial risk management.
• Ensure operational readiness with service support teams and mature DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with business on communication, change impact, incident readiness, and releases.
