National Energy System Operator (NESO) is seeking a Delivery Manager in Market Change Delivery. You will oversee end-to-end delivery plans, governance, and commercial management across multi‑vendor technology products supporting energy system operations.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and the ability to drive operational readiness and release readiness in a hybrid working environment based in Warwick or Wokingham.

About the Role

The Delivery Manager in Market Change Delivery is a critical leadership role within Market Access and Procurement, working in close partnership with the Engineering Manager to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of new services involving complex, multivendor technology products. This role provides delivery governance, stakeholder alignment, financial oversight, and operational readiness across a product area that supports mission-critical energy system operations.

Success in this role requires strong planning discipline, commercial acumen, operational awareness, and the ability to influence across engineering, product, vendor and business teams and requires quality delivery of complex, multi‑vendor technology products. This role provides delivery governance, stakeholder alignment, financial oversight, and operational readiness across a product area that supports mission‑critical energy system operations.

This role is based in the Warwick or Wokingham office, with hybrid working from office and home. This advert is intended to cover multiple Delivery Manager hires, for our requirements in this area.

Key Accountabilities

1. Delivery Planning & Governance

• Manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) with discipline, ensuring early warning of delivery risks and clear mitigation actions.
• Build strong relationships with business teams, product leads, platform teams, and vendor partners to ensure delivery alignment.
• Use NESO business and product knowledge to challenge priorities, scope, and sequencing when needed.
• Provide structured and proactive delivery reporting to senior stakeholders.

2. Project & Commercial Management

• Manage budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial governance across the product lifecycle.
• Lead investment governance, including sanction approvals, business case updates, steering committees, and project closure processes.
• Drive vendor and commercial management activities including RFPs for resourcing, delivery partners, or product procurement.
• Oversee contract performance, scope control, and commercial risk management with clear escalation and recommendations.

3. Operations & Readiness Management

• Ensure Operational readiness in partnership with Service support teams.
• Embed operational considerations early in delivery to support mature DevOps practices and minimise operational risk.
• Work closely with business teams on communication, change impact, incident preparedness, and release readiness.
• Support continuous improvement in operational handovers, service acceptance, and incident response mechanisms.

What You’ll Get

A competitive salary of £70,000 - £78,000 (possible flex) dependent on experience and capabilityAs well as your base salary,you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance, 28 days annual leave as standard, and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
