  • Lead multidisciplinary, agile teams to deliver digital projects and services for public and third sector clients.
  • Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery of one or two projects at a time, balancing scope, time, budget and quality.
  • Keep teams focused on outcomes and value, ensuring work is driven by user needs and product vision.
  • Facilitate regular team ceremonies, such as stand‑ups, planning sessions and retrospectives, to support effective delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Support teams to self‑organise and work at a sustainable pace.
  • Apply a range of agile and lean tools and techniques pragmatically, adapting them to the context of each team and client.
  • Help clients understand and adopt agile principles and practices within their own organisations.
  • Encourage reflection and learning, using evidence from delivery to improve how teams work.

Working with clients and stakeholders

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact on delivery.
  • Manage client expectations and communicate progress, risks and issues clearly and transparently.
  • Make timely, pragmatic decisions that balance the needs of the team, the project and the client.
  • Contribute to sales bids and proposals, and help maintain long‑term client relationships.

  • Projects will vary in size and complexity, often aligned to the phases in theGOV.UK Service Manual.
  • You’ll usually work on one or two projects at a time.
  • You’ll be expected to work flexibly and collaborate closely with colleagues and clients across the UK.
About you

You care about building public services that work well for the people who rely on them, and about creating supportive, high‑performing teams.

You:

  • Are confident using a range of agile tools and techniques to keep work moving and teams healthy.
  • Know how to bring together developers, designers, researchers and others to understand problems and deliver solutions.

We take ideas and problems and turn them into live services that work. With a track record of designing, building and supporting vital services that fit seamlessly into users’ lives.
