Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking a Lead Agile Delivery Manager to drive the delivery of large-scale digital products and services within Data Enablement, part of the organisation's modernisation programme. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, providing leadership, line management, and strategic direction to deliver outcomes that matter for UK public services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strong agile leadership of complex, scaled programmes with multiple stakeholders and define clear outcomes, delivery and resource plans.
• Design and orchestrate delivery, optimise workflows and implement new processes for successful scale delivery, driving innovation.
• Be an experienced agile practitioner with knowledge of agile and lean tools, coaching teams and partners.
• Lead delivery across multiple teams and senior stakeholders, balancing technical, user and security needs.
• Build consensus across services/products and mediate between teams to achieve successful outcomes.
• Communicate clearly to Influence and manage expectations, facilitating discussions on high risk and complexity.
• Optimise delivery flow, manage team structure changes and unblock issues to sustain momentum.
• Champion Enablement products and services across DWP and its partners, driving uptake.
• Provide oversight of third-party use, ensuring value for money and strategic alignment.
• Role model the behaviours and culture, creating safe environments that encourage experimentation and learning.

Job description

We are looking for a Lead Agile Delivery Manager with extensive hands-on experience of driving the delivery of large-scale digital products and services in complex, multi-team environments. This is an exciting opportunity to join Data Enablement, a key part of DWP Digital's modernisation programme. You will work with teams at the forefront of data transformation and as such, this role requires an experienced, self-motivated, and confident Lead Agile Delivery Manager. You will be part of a senior leadership team, contributing to the strategic aims of DWP Digital and providing line management within your area. Come and help us develop DWP's data services of the future. As a Lead Agile Delivery Manager, you will:

• Deliver strong agile leadership of complex, scaled programmes with multiple stakeholders. Define and assure clear outcomes, delivery and resource plans, ensuring teams are clear on what they need to do.
• Be accountable for designing and orchestrating delivery, optimising workflows and implementing new processes and techniques needed to deliver successful outcomes at scale, driving innovation and proactively changing the status quo.
• Be an experienced agile practitioner with in-depth knowledge and experience of agile and lean tools and techniques, with the ability to build capability in both delivery teams and partners via leadership, role modelling and coaching behaviours and techniques.
• Lead delivery of complex areas of work involving multiple teams and senior stakeholders, including hybrid delivery environments, building momentum and managing multiple competing demands, finding the right balance between technical, user and security stakeholder needs.
• Be able to build consensus across different services and products and to mediate between teams to achieve successful outcomes, adapting delivery approaches to meet the needs of teams balancing live service responsibilities alongside change and development activity.
• Communicate with clarity to build influence and trust at all levels of the organisation, manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions about high risk and complexity.
• Optimise the delivery flow of teams, implement team structure changes and orchestrate efforts across teams to maintain and improve delivery momentum. Be able to manage the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies and act as an escalation point to unblock issues.
• Champion the products and services developed by Enablement across DWP and its partners, maximising usage and uptake across the organisation.
• Provide effective oversight of the use of third parties, ensuring value for money, strategic alignment with technical and business strategies and integration with Civil Service teams.
