Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Major Projects Construction Manager to lead projects from feasibility to delivery, collaborating with clients, project managers and design teams.

You will oversee the lifecycle, focusing on highways infrastructure, regeneration and active travel initiatives, while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role demands strong leadership, stakeholder management and a proven track record delivering large-scale highway works in live environments.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering with relevant industry certifications (SMSTS, NEBOSH General, Construction Certificate, NRSWA Supervisor).
• Experience as Principal Contractor under CDM Regulations and NEC4 conditions.
• Strong track record delivering highway renewal and maintenance schemes in live operational environments.
• Knowledge of MCHW and DMRB standards and highways best practices.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction works in accordance with contract requirements and programme milestones.
• Fulfill Principal Contractor duties under CDM Regulations and NEC4 conditions.
• Lead Construction Phase Plan and monitor progress, implementing mitigations.
• Chair regular project meetings with clients, senior management, contractors and site teams; maintain stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee site operations, manage contractor performance and promote innovation and improvement.
