Job summary

IKEA is hiring a full-time delivery driver in the United Kingdom. You will perform vehicle safety checks, load and deliver goods to customers’ homes, and handle returns in line with the company policy. The role requires a full UK driving licence held for at least 24 months and strong safety awareness.

Shifts run 7am–9pm with typical 7am–5pm days and one weekly 9am–7pm shift. Flexibility and teamwork are valued as part of the fulfilment team.

• You are someone who offers support and will step in to assist your team when necessary to secure tasks in connection to your role.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle safety checks and take appropriate action.
• Load goods into the vehicle in a safe and organised manner to meet timings for deliveries.
• Deliver goods to customers’ homes and take them into a nominated room, performing location risk assessments.
• Handle a range of furniture items using safe manual handling practices (one or two person lifting).
• Deliver up to 3 runs per day, loading/unloading the van for each; van capacity is 1.4 tonnes.
• Manage the collection and processing of returned products in line with returns policy.
• Support your team within the fulfilment department.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Full Time: 39 hours per week working 5 days per week, 2 out of 3 weekends.
• This role offer a salary starting from £29,640.00 per annum, based on skills & experience.
• Working hours are between 7am to 9pm, typical shifts will be 7am-5pm with 1 shift per week of 9am-7pm.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will be responsible for completing vehicle safety checks and taking appropriate action.
• You will load goods into the vehicle in a safe and organised manner ensuring to ensure that you are set up to meet allocated timings for each delivery.
• You will deliver goods to customer’s homes and take them into a nominated room, carrying out risk assessments on location to prevent injury and damage to property.
• We deliver all of our products ranging from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes you will be required to handle a range of furniture items using safe manual handling practices, employing both one and two person lifting.
• Deliver up to 3 runs per day, you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of the van for each of these. The load capacity of the van is 1.4 tonnes.
• Efficiently manage the collection and processing of returned products, ensuring compliance with IKEA's returns policy.
• Supporting your team within the fulfilment department.
