Job summary

IKEA Belfast is looking to welcome Driver's Mates to the team. You will handle a range of furniture items, assist loading, and work as part of a delivery crew to bring products to customers' homes.

The role focuses on safe, friendly service, with vehicle safety checks, risk assessment on location, and excellent customer interactions. Start date October 2026; 39 hours per week across 4 days, with some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older.
• Be comfortable with extensive manual handling.
• You aim to deliver the best possible experience, are prepared to step up and problem solve when things aren’t right.
• You are someone who takes Health & Safety seriously and are comfortable risk assessing your environment.
• You are attentive to details especially when it comes to performing checks on your vehicle.

Responsibilities

• You will support the Driver to complete vehicle safety checks and take appropriate action.
• You will assist in loading goods into the vehicle in a safe and organized manner ensuring the delivery route matches the goods for maximum efficiency.
• You will deliver goods to customer’s homes and take them into a nominated room, carrying out risk assessments on location to prevent injury and damage to property.
• You will communicate with the customer both in person and over the phone to provide a positive customer service experience.

We deliver all of our products ranging from LACK Coffee Tables to PAX Wardrobes you will be required to handle a range of furniture items and must be comfortable with extensive manual handling.

WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be start of October 2026
• This role offers £13.45 per hour.
• 39 Hours per week, 4 days out of 7 working 10.5-hour shifts of 7am-5pm and 1 shift of 9am-7pm, 2 out of 3 weekends.
