Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as flexible (temporary) postal delivery drivers. You’ll be the face of Royal Mail, driving a van and delivering letters and parcels around your delivery area, come rain or shine.

Shifts vary and you’ll walk substantial distances, with pay rates per shift listed below; day, dawn, early, evening, late, and night shifts offer competitive hourly rates, with the highest night rate. Training and driving assessment will be required.

Qualifications

• Full, manual UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Must be physically capable of walking up to 20,000 steps per day and handling a mailbag weighing up to 16kg.
• Shifts can vary and require teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Royal Mail van across your delivery area and deliver letters and parcels under all conditions.
• Deliver items securely on your route and, where required, handle election materials and other items in line with business standards.
