Job summary

Kainos invites you to join a collaborative, people-first team shaping digital transformation. As a Product Consultant you will own the team backlog from inception to delivery, drive MVP thinking, and communicate value to stakeholders.

You’ll lead agile ceremonies, run workshops, mentor junior staff, and help maintain high-quality user stories. You'll work with external clients in an agile delivery environment, balancing scope, deadlines, and MVP outcomes while developing solutions with impact

Qualifications

• Experience in bespoke software delivery as part of an external customer project (consulting environment).
• Defence sector experience is preferred.
• Active DV clearance is required.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle from analysis to live operations.
• Excellent workshop facilitation to drive stakeholder alignment.
• Proven ability to elicit functional, technical and non-functional requirements.
• Strong backlog management with MVP-focused delivery.
• Experience contributing to sales activities and bids where needed.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
• Experience building trusted relationships inside and outside the delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Own the team's backlog from inception through to delivery and MVP-ready releases.
• Lead agile ceremonies and encourage engagement across stakeholders.
• Plan and run workshops to achieve consensus in areas of uncertainty.
• Support delivery initiatives and coach junior staff within the Product capability.
• Communicate the value of features to the team and wider stakeholders.
