Job summary

OMNIA Training seeks an AI Solution Engineer to transform the British Army’s training through AI/ML. You’ll work in a hybrid role, reporting within OMNIA AI Solution Architecture and delivering across data prep, model evaluation, and workflow automation.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet Army training goals. You will develop and deploy scalable AI capabilities, ensure secure production environments, and contribute to ethical AI practices while continuously learning new

Qualifications

• Strong Python for AI/ML development.
• Experience with at least one major ML framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Experience building and maintaining end-to-end ML pipelines (data ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation).
• Ability to document technical solutions for maintainability and audit.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of AI/ML solutions ensuring alignment with Army training objectives and Omnia architecture principles.
• Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions aligned to Army training objectives and enterprise architecture principles.
• Support development and maintenance of ML pipelines including data pre-processing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Support integration of AI capabilities into secure operational environments, ensuring DevSecOps compatibility.
• Monitor deployed models, analyse performance metrics, and implement retraining strategies.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to support scalable, maintainable AI components.
• Review and apply ethical AI principles including bias mitigation, data governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation for maintainability and audits.
• Engage with stakeholders through demonstrations and briefings, translating AI concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Investigate emerging AI tools and platforms for Army training use cases.
