Raytheon UK in Gloucester (with teams in Manchester and London) is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to develop data-centric solutions within the Strategic Research Group.

You will work with senior technical leaders on customer and internal projects, contributing to novel AI/ML methods and delivering solutions in a defence-focused environment. The role offers a hybrid model with an average of three on-site days per week, and requires SC/eDV clearance.

Qualifications

• BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience coding in Python and ML packages (HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience delivering ML solutions to stakeholders.
• Understanding AI/ML algorithms including Generative AI, NLP and computer vision.
• Experience training AI models including Large Language Models.
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific writing for internal & external publication.
• Autonomy with task delivery and pro-active problem solving.

Responsabilités

• Develop novel data science solutions as part of a team with guidance from seniors.
• Deliver AI/ML/Data Science solutions to defence projects and internal research tasks.
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks on customer and internal projects.
• Work with autonomy on assigned tasks within project groups.
• Generate ideas for new research directions.
• Deliver AI/ML/Data Science solutions to broad range of problems in defence.
• Communicate technical approaches to senior stakeholders with clear demonstrations.
