Job summary

RTX's Strategic Research Group in Gloucester is hiring an AI/ML Specialist to develop data science solutions across customer and internal projects. You will work with senior colleagues to scope ideas and deliver end-to-end AI/ML distinct solutions for defence and internal use.

The role requires Python proficiency, ML framework experience, and the ability to present technical material to diverse audiences. Hybrid work model with on-site days in Gloucester, Manchester or London.

Qualifications

• BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience coding in Python and ML packages (HuggingFace, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience delivering ML solutions to stakeholders.
• Understanding of AI/ML algorithms for Generative AI, NLP and computer vision.
• Experience training and developing AI models including LLMs.
• Ability to produce high-quality scientific writing for publication.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel data science solutions as part of a team with guidance from seniors.
• Deliver AI/ML/Data Science solutions to a broad range of problems in defence.
• Undertake research and applied AI/ML tasks on customer and internal projects.
• Communicate ideas effectively to senior technical leaders for project direction.
• Work with autonomy on assigned tasks within project groups.
