Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Commercial Manager for the Chatham site to support the Royal School of Military Engineering contract, drive commercial excellence and manage risk. The role involves governance, commercial negotiations and enabling growth across the Training Business Unit.

The position is based at Chatham with a hybrid pattern (three days onsite, two days remote) and requires SC security clearance eligibility. This is a full-time permanent role with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial support for contracts in defence or similar complex environments.
• Experience in governance, audits, and compliance activities.
• Proven ability to manage commercial risks, opportunities, variations and obligations.
• Ability to build strong relationships with operational teams, customers and stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to bids, proposals and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Providing commercial support and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of the Royal School of Military Engineering contract.
• Managing commercial risks, opportunities, contract changes, variations and contractual obligations.
• Supporting governance activities, contract audits, approvals and compliance requirements.
• Building strong relationships with operational teams, customers and key stakeholders.
• Contributing to bids, proposals, commercial negotiations and new business opportunities across the Training Business Unit.
