Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Systems Engineer to help deliver defence and critical infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will contribute across the full lifecycle, engaging with veteran engineers and clients on complex projects that shape national security and capability.

You will use MBSE and model-based approaches, work with multidisciplinary teams, and support requirements, architecture and integration activities at major sites. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience.
• CEng, CSEP or working towards professional registration.
• Experience applying systems engineering within complex engineering, defence or regulated environments.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, governance and standards (e.g. ISO 15288).
• Experience in requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification or validation activities.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support requirements management, ensuring traceability through design, verification and validation.
• Contribute to system architecture, design and integration activities on complex programmes.
• Support technical reviews, trade studies and engineering decision-making.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
• Apply digital engineering approaches, including MBSE where appropriate, to support analysis and communication.
• Contribute to project planning, risk management and programme delivery activities.
