Job summary

CBSbutler Ltd. seeks a Software Engineering Lead for Digital Engineering based in Reading with hybrid working (minimum 50% onsite).

The role supports delivery of complex Software Factory projects across MOD, Defence and aerospace programmes. You will be the hands-on interface between engineering teams and Delivery Management, coordinating technical activities, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring scope, schedule and quality.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance is mandatory.
• DV clearance is highly desirable.
• Sole UK national is mandatory due to programme requirements.
• 8+ years' experience on software, systems or platform engineering projects.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD understanding.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Track project execution against objectives, milestones and delivery plans.
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
• Provide technical leadership and decision-making.
• Communicate project status, risks and mitigation plans to key stakeholders.
• Support architecture and technical roadmaps.
