Job summary

CBS Butler is seeking an MBSE Digital Engineering Expert to support MBSE solutions across aerospace and defence programmes. The role focuses on modelling, toolchains, and Digital Thread capabilities, with active UK SC clearance required and DV preferred.

You will translate technical requirements into digital solutions, design MBSE workflows, and drive adoption across engineering teams, with 50% onsite in Reading.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Systems Engineering, MBSE or Digital Engineering.
• Strong understanding of MBSE, Systems Engineering and SysML.
• Hands-on experience with Cameo and/or IBM Rhapsody.
• Experience translating requirements into digital solutions and workflows.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, requirements management and traceability.
• Experience supporting complex engineering programmes.
• Demonstrable aerospace, defence or MOD experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Active UK SC security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Capture and analyse MBSE and Systems Engineering user needs, translating them into practical digital solutions.
• Define and support MBSE processes, modelling approaches and workflows within the Digital Engineering environment.
• Design, assess and support MBSE toolchain solutions using Cameo and/or IBM Rhapsody.
• Establish integration and traceability between system models, requirements and wider engineering data.
• Support the development of Digital Thread capabilities and information flows across engineering disciplines.
• Develop and deliver proofs of concept, pilot solutions and demonstrations of digital engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to validate solutions and encourage adoption.
• Contribute to MBSE standards, governance frameworks and best-practice guidelines.
