Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Controls specialist to join its defence portfolio. You will work within a cross‑discipline project controls team, contributing to scope, schedule and cost management across complex commissions while coordinating with Integrated Project Team partners.

The role requires hands‑on experience in Earned Value, risk management and change control, plus a proactive, communicative attitude.

Qualifications

• Have experience of delivering projects.
• Have Project Controls experience across one or more stages within the Project lifecycle.
• Have experience in Planning, Scheduling, Cost Estimation, Cost Control, Risk Management or Performance Reporting and their associated software/tools.
• Hold a proactive, curious and ‘can-do’ attitude, as well as being an individual who is comfortable in uncertain and unclear project environments.
• Be a good communicator with ability to influence outcomes.
• Have an undergraduate degree in a relevant technical or management field.
• Hold membership of a relevant professional body e.g. APM, PMI.
• Be competent in using the software needed to perform the role.
• Have a desire to work within various sectors and with a range of clients

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to cross-discipline workstreams within Project Controls.
• Support scope definition and decomposition to establish a Work Breakdown Structure.
• Assist in establishing a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control.
• Collaborate with suppliers to analyse performance data per contractual requirements.
• Support scope, cost, risk and schedule integration and alignment.
• Analyse performance data, including Earned Value, to inform delivery decisions.
• Liaise with Finance to generate prospective financial positions (e.g., ETC and EAC).
• Support risk management through identification, quantification and oversight of project risk.
• Assist Project Managers in resource deployment in line with resource-loaded schedules.
• Assure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of outputs.
• Communicate delivery performance to stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Promote learning from experience and process improvements.
