Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Production Support Technician for our Plymouth, Devon site to help keep vital defence programmes moving. You will produce and manage production and quality documentation, coordinate inspections and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while working with engineering and quality teams.

This full-time role offers valuable development within the Submarine Support Business Unit and a path to contribute to UK defence programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience working within an engineering, manufacturing, refit or maintenance environment.
• Confidence producing and closing out technical and quality documentation.
• Strong IT skills, including data management and use of Microsoft Windows-based systems.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• A team‑focused approach with a willingness to learn and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain compliant production and quality documentation to meet programme, safety and quality requirements.
• Coordinate and track non‑destructive examination and welding inspection requests through to completion.
• Update and manage production and quality data within departmental systems and databases.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, corporate procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with quality, inspection and engineering teams to support production delivery.
