Job summary

VIVO Defence Services is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operative to support UK Defence estates. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, ensure compliance, and help maintain critical infrastructure.

Reporting to the Built Estate Manager, you’ll work independently, use hand tools, and liaise with DIO representatives and suppliers. A driving licence, SC clearance eligibility, and readiness for training are essential.

Qualifications

• Reliable, adaptable and committed to delivering good service.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Experience in handyman, maintenance or semi-skilled trades.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken form.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Basic IT skills, especially email communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and handyman tasks to support site operations.
• Carry out maintenance, compliance and operational activities for defence sites.
• Record work, update schedules and escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct weekly flushing of little-used water outlets and fire alarm testing.
• Assist with de-leading on firing ranges and operate plant/machinery with training.
