Job summary

Babcock International is offering a 6-year Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer Degree Apprenticeship. You’ll study part-time at Gloucestershire College and UWE Bristol, while four days a week applying your learning within the business.

You’ll gain a BEng (Hons) in Electronic and Computer Engineering on completion and have opportunities to progress towards professional registration, security clearances, and broader roles across UK sites.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths, English and a science, technology or engineering related subject.
• 3 A Levels at grade C or above, including Maths and two other science, technology, engineering or mathematics subjects, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC (112 UCAS points).
• Full driving licence is required for travel to multiple sites where no practical alternative transport is available.
• UK national and ability to meet BPSS, SC, and DV security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support defence projects and learn embedded electronic systems design and development.
• Collaborate with design, software, mechanical and electrical engineering teams, plus project management and quality teams.
• Develop knowledge through practical live projects and placements across multiple UK locations.
• Contribute to testing, repair, and understanding of customer requirements in demanding environments.
