Job summary

Searchability is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer for UK classified defence programmes. The role is based in Ampthill with on-site requirements on Monday and Tuesday, and potential additional on-site work as needed.

BPSS is required to start, with eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC). You will design electronic hardware across digital and analogue systems, perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer, and support verification and qualification activities across

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/BEng or equivalent Electronics qualification.
• Experience in Electronics Hardware Design & Product Development.
• Proven digital and analogue electronics design experience.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer.
• IPC and EMC awareness at product/PCB level.
• Experience with Windchill or another PLM tool.
• Ability to support Assembly, Integration & Test.
• Experience producing technical documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
• BPSS to start and willingness/ability to obtain SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of electronic hardware across digital and analogue systems.
• Capture schematics, layout PCBs and drive product development.
• Coordinate Assembly, Integration & Test activities and verification.
• Produce technical documentation and trade studies.
• Engage stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of classified programmes.
