Job summary

Mastek is seeking an experienced Business Change & Communications Lead to define and deliver stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption strategies across a complex Defence environment. You will work with senior leadership, Defence stakeholders, and industry partners to shape programme narratives and ensure effective information sharing.

This role requires strategic advisory skills, delivery of high-profile engagement events, and a track record in large government programmes.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in Communications, Public Relations, or related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CIPR, Prosci, APM Change Management are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead stakeholder engagement strategies across government stakeholders and industry partners.
• Establish structured communication frameworks to support transparency and collaboration.
• Coordinate and manage all programme communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Plan and deliver high-impact engagement events, workshops, leadership briefings, capability showcases, and industry forums.
• Develop campaigns that drive awareness, business readiness, adoption, and engagement.
• Shape and maintain programme messaging aligned to Defence objectives and capability outcomes.
• Provide strategic communications advice and briefing support to Programme Directors, SROs, and senior stakeholders.
• Produce high-quality communication products including board packs, ministerial briefings, reports, newsletters, and stakeholder updates.
• Support business change initiatives through adoption planning, benefits realisation communications, and readiness activities.
• Measure engagement effectiveness and communications impact while ensuring governance and security requirements.
• Proven experience delivering stakeholder engagement, communications, and business change strategies within large-scale Defence or Government programmes.
• Strong experience planning and leading high-profile engagement events and campaigns.
• Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders including SROs and Programme Boards.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ministerial and executive-level communications.
• Ability to shape programme narratives and influence senior leadership decisions.
• Experience translating complex information into clear stakeholder messaging.
• Proven ability to identify and manage communication risks and sensitivities in complex environments.
• Experience delivering business change, adoption, and readiness communications.
• Experience in Land, ISTAR, C4ISR, Defence Digital, or NAD environments.
