Job summary

Rotherwood Education are recruiting for 2 SEND Teaching Assistants to work full-time in a secondary school in the Burnley area, starting ASAP for an initial period through to October half term with potential extension. The ideal candidate will have strong SEND experience, be capable of one-to-one and small-group support, maintain calm behaviour management, and complete safeguarding checks and DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEND TA.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
• Confident with one-to-one and small-group support.
• Patient, calm, resilient and consistent.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Provide last 2 references covering the last 5 years of work history.
• Have a current DBS or be willing to apply for one.
• Willing to complete safeguarding checks in person.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils within lessons and adapt activities to individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
• Collaborate with subject teachers, the SENCO and wider staff.
