Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a patient SEN Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced SEN school in Ongar. The role involves 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary, assisting with communication, EHCP targets, and personal care as needed.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP with ongoing consultant support and potential for permanent appointment, contributing to pupil wellbeing and personalised development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Comfortable across primary and secondary age groups.
• Ability to support non-verbal pupils.
• Willing to assist with personal care.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
