Job summary

Epwin Group is seeking a skilled Decking Installer to join our installation team. You will install PVC and composite decking across the UK, travelling regularly and staying away from home as required, while working safely as part of a team.

The role requires practical hands-on ability, attention to detail and a good understanding of construction methods. A full UK driving licence is essential, with on-site training and a clear path for career progression.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Location: Various sites across the UK - regular travel and overnight stays required

Hours of Work: 42hrs/ week, variable in line with seasonality & business needs, some weekend & bank holiday may be required.

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled, reliable and hardworking Decking Installer to join our installation team.

The role involves the installation of high-quality PVC and composite decking systems at customer and project sites across the UK. Due to the nature of the position, applicants must be comfortable travelling regularly and staying away from home when required, which may include consecutive nights depending on the location and duration of the project.

The successful candidate will have a practical, hands on approach, take pride in the quality of their work and be able to work safely and efficiently as part of an installation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install PVC and composite decking systems to the required quality and installation standards.
• Carry out associated preparation, measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing work.
• Read and interpret site plans, technical drawings and installation specifications.
• Use power tools, hand tools and installation equipment safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Work safely at height where required and use appropriate access equipment.
• Work efficiently as part of a team to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Travel to project sites throughout the UK, including regular overnight stays.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and other contractors while on site.
• Identify and resolve installation issues as they arise, escalating where necessary.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Keep work areas clean, organised and safe throughout the installation process.
• Represent the company professionally at all times when working on customer sites.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence - essential.
• Previous experience in decking installation, carpentry, joinery, construction or a similar practical trade.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home as required.
• Good practical understanding of construction methods, materials and safe working practices.
• Competent in the safe use of hand and power tools.
• Good problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physically capable of carrying out a manual role, including handling and moving materials.
• Reliable, punctual and able to maintain a professional standard when representing the company.

Qualifications & Training

The following qualifications are advantageous:

• Valid CSCS card.
• Working at Height training/permit or recognised working at height certification.
• Additional health and safety or site based training.

Applicants without these qualifications may still be considered where they can demonstrate suitable experience and practical ability.
