Job summary

Sunseeker International Ltd in Poole is seeking a Deck Fitter to install and finish structural components on luxury motor yachts. You will work across a range of fittings, ensuring precise alignment with measurements and drawings to meet Sunseeker's renowned quality.

This hands-on role requires practical experience in mechanical fitting, reading drawings, and working with GRP, metal, wood or glass. Day shifts Mon–Fri 07:00–15:30; you’ll be rewarded with competitive hourly rates and strong

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical fitting or manufacturing environments.

• Experience working with materials such as GRP, metal, wood or glass.

Responsibilities

• Fit and finish mechanical components across luxury yachts, following drawings and measurements.
• Assemble, install and align external components (handrails, anchors, cleats, radar chairs) to Sunseeker standards.
• Utilise a range of tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to ensure exact fitting and levelling.

Are You Sunseeker Deck Fitter?

A Sunseeker Deck Fitter (Mechanical Fitter) will work across our extensive range of luxury motor yachts, completing large structural work packages including flybridges, patio doors, spa tubs and wetbars. You'll be responsible for the mechanical fitting and installation of external components such as handrails, anchors, cleats and radar chairs, helping to ensure every yacht meets Sunseeker's world-renowned standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Working with a variety of materials including GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), stainless steel and glass, you'll use a broad range of practical skills to assemble, fit and finish components with precision and attention to detail. This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who enjoy problem-solving, working from measurements and drawings, and taking pride in producing exceptional results.

• Do you have previous experience in a mechanical fitting, assembly or manufacturing environment?
• Are you a confident user of hand drills, saws and associated workshop tools, with the ability to accurately drill and tap components?
• Can you work from drawings, measurements and key dimensions to achieve precise fitting, alignment and levelling?
• Have you undertaken basic carpentry projects and developed the ability to scribe sheet materials accurately?
• Do you have experience working with materials such as GRP, metal, wood or glass?
• Are you able to interpret technical information and apply practical solutions during the fitting process?
• Do you have a good understanding of adhesives, sealants and their correct application?
• Can you maintain exceptional attention to detail while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
• Are you a reliable team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship?

Our working patterns

• Day Shift | Monday-Friday, 07:00-15:30

Our pay rates

• Basic hourly rates from £14.42 to £16.53, depending on experience
• Overtime rates of up to £24.79 (x1.5 rate) and £33.06 (x2 rate, Sundays/Bank Holidays) - please note that Overtime is not guaranteed and it is allocated based on business needs at the time
