Job summary

J.P. Morgan's Centre for Carbon Transition (CCT) seeks a Senior Analyst or Associate to support the energy transition mandate and build decarbonisation expertise. You will work with the London and New York teams, interfacing with internal stakeholders and clients.

The role requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, plus interest in energy/climate topics and exposure to diverse industries.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, energy/environmental economics, sustainability).
• 1–3 years of experience in energy/decarbonization/sustainability/climate role.
• Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (written and verbal).
• Excellent analytical skills with Excel and large datasets; strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a self-starter mindset.
• Demonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themes.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the Firm's strategy to align its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050.
• Evaluate clients' transition strategies and credibility of decarbonization plans.
• Support and own elements of quantitative client and portfolio carbon analytics, across transactions and industries.
• Translate outputs into executive-ready recommendations for stakeholder engagement and senior forums.
• Support external engagement and events.
