Job summary

Citizens Advice Bury & Bolton (CABB) is seeking a Debt Supervisor (Trainee considered) to lead a team delivering regulated debt and energy advice. The role is hybrid after training, with responsibility for supervising up to eight advisers and ensuring high-quality client outcomes.

You will monitor performance against KPIs, provide coaching, and ensure compliance with funder and regulatory requirements. Training and supervision will be provided to develop your supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• 18 months+ experience as debt/money advice adviser/caseworker (MaPS accreditation preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse staff and clients.
• Organisational skills with ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine commitment to ongoing professional and team development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Money Advice & Energy Services Advisers (up to 8 direct reports) and support supervisor colleagues.
• Ensure contract KPIs are met and advice meets regulatory, contractual and funder requirements through file reviews and live coaching.

As a supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that our regulated money and debt advice, along with energy advice services are delivered to high-quality standards and KPIs are met through live coaching, supporting advisers with complex queries, file reviews and feedback.

Key elements and tasks within this role include:

• Supervision of Money Advice & Energy Services Advisers (you will have up to 8 direct reports and will support supervisor colleagues)
• Being a subject matter expert, providing technical knowledge and expertise to ensure that all contract KPIs are met, and advice is delivered to a high standard which meets the criteria for all regulatory, contractual and funder requirements through independent file reviews, live coaching and monitoring of key themes

About you:

• At least 18 months experience as debt/money advice adviser/caseworker (Preferably MaPS accredited)
• Experience in managing money advice/ debt caseloads
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of staff and clients
• Organisational skills with the ability to adapt, prioritise deadlines and competing tasks in a fast-paced environment,
• A genuine passion for continual professional development, and team development
• Be empathetic, compassionate and resilient, understand how to use trauma informed approaches and be adaptable to client needs
• Be resilient and adaptable.
