Job summary

Citizens Advice Wakefield District is recruiting two Debt Advisers to join the Debt Advice Team. You will deliver high quality, FCA regulated debt advice and casework over phone, in person, via webchat and email, for a wide range of clients, using strong communication and interpersonal skills to support individuals in vulnerable situations.

If you are accredited in Money Advice to casework level (or nearing completion) or above, and have at least 1 year of debt advice experience, we would like

Qualifications

• Accredited Money Advice to casework level or nearing completion.
• Experience delivering debt advice in a regulated setting preferred.
• Strong communication and empathy with clients in vulnerable situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide FCA regulated debt advice and casework by phone, in person, webchat and email.
• Advise on priority vs non-priority debt, budgeting and income maximisation.
• Liaise with third parties to resolve issues and support clients toward solutions.

Salary FTE £32,652 - £34,837 (pro-rata for part time post)

We are looking for two motivated and committed individuals to join our Debt Advice Team here at Citizens Advice Wakefield District. Our service is busy and client focused. As a team we have a track record in providing high-quality advice and excel against our contractual performance.

As a Debt Adviser you will deliver high quality, FCA regulated advice and casework over the phone, in person, via webchat and email for a wide range of clients, using strong communication and interpersonal skills to support individuals in vulnerable situations. This will include advising clients on dealing with their priority and non-priority debt, debt solutions, budgeting and maximising income. You will also liaise and negotiate with a range of third parties to manage varied issues and empower clients to find a way forward.

If you are accredited in Money Advice to casework level (or nearing completion of accreditation to this level) or above; have a commitment to continuous professional development with a minimum of 1 years recent experience in debt advice delivery we would like to hear from you.
