Job summary

Citizens Advice Nottinghamshire Central & South is recruiting debt advisers to support clients via telephone. You will join a small, collaborative team and deliver practical debt advice. A full training programme is provided for successful applicants.

The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, based at the Beeston office, with a pay package of £24,500 per year and incremental increases after probation.

Citizens Advice Nottinghamshire Central & South are looking for debt advisers to join us on a new project working with clients providing them with advice over the telephone. You will be working with a tight knit team to provide help and a way forward to those most in need. We will provide full training.

We have the following skills requirements:

• An ability to demonstrate a high level of commitment to training and good understanding/experience of the processes in dealing with advice giving


• The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines using own initiative


• The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with a range of people and organisations


• The ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team and work without close supervision


• Ability and willingness to follow agreed procedures


• Ability to work in a sensitive, enabling and non-judgemental way with people from a wide range of backgrounds


• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
