Job summary

Lyreco in Bristol is seeking a Distribution Team Leader to support the RDC Manager, supervise a team of Delivery Drivers, and ensure high levels of customer service in daily deliveries of furniture and office products.

You will load/unload vehicles, perform pallet handling, and help with vehicle checks. The role requires a C1 license, CPC and Tacho card in date, and may involve occasional travel to other depots.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Highway Code and regulations relating to the operation of delivery vehicles.
• Basic working knowledge of tachographs and EU regulations relating to the working time directive.
• Good supervisory and communication skills.
• Ability to schedule, plan and meet deadlines.
• This role requires regular contact with customers; strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the RDC Manager to lead a team of Delivery Drivers, providing relief cover for holidays, sickness and training.
• Occasionally travel to other depots, including Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
• Load and unload trucks to deliver orders (Furniture/General Office Products) and maintain high customer service.
• Assist with unloading/breakdown of pallets and sortation into route order.
• Aid in random vehicle checks to ensure correct loading.
• Undertake weekly vehicle checks for damage, wear, and tear; report faults or incidents promptly.
• Assist with recruiting new staff members.
