Job summary

RED is expanding its DC power capability to serve AI factory infrastructure across the UK. The Associate Electrical Engineer will lead DC power system design, modelling and technical assurance, developing reference designs and training pathways for engineers.

Based in London, Newcastle or Bicester, you will work with R&D and project teams to deliver robust, compliant DC solutions for high-density data centres and future data centre power architectures.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of DC power distribution principles and topologies.
  • Strong power modelling capability using analysis tools and spreadsheets.
  • Experience in electrical design and data centre or AI infrastructure context.
  • Familiarity with UK, European and international standards and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Establish in-house DC design and power modelling capability for high-density AI data centre infra.
  • Develop reference designs for DC AI factory infrastructure with R&D collaboration.
  • Serve as the central subject matter expert for DC power system design, modelling, and assurance.
  • Create design guidance, calculation methods and training pathways for upskilling teams.
  • Lead the technical development of DC power distribution concepts for AI-ready data centres.
  • Develop DC power system studies: load flow, voltage drop, faults, protection, resilience.
