Job summary

Spence & Partners Limited in Manchester is seeking a Principal Pensions Administrator to lead defined benefit schemes, acting as the primary contact for trustees and advisers and ensuring compliant, high-quality client service.

You will own complex cases, attend trustee meetings, present reports, and drive scheme projects such as GMP equalisation, buy-ins and buyouts, while mentoring colleagues and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• DB pension administration experience and expertise in complex/technical cases.
• In-depth knowledge of UK pensions legislation, regulation, and codes of practice.
• Experience as lead contact for trustees/advisers and presenting to trustee meetings.
• Strong client relationship skills and ability to attend/participate in trustee meetings.
• Experience leading scheme-wide projects (e.g. GMP equalisation, buy-ins, buyouts, wind-ups).
• Ability to mentor and support junior and senior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead on defined benefit pension administration for complex schemes.
• Attend trustee meetings and present reports to trustees/advisers.
• Own and guide large-scale pension projects (GMP, buy-ins, buyouts).
