Job summary

Priory Group is seeking a Support Worker for day shifts at Beechley Drive, Fairwater, near Cardiff. You will join a caring MDT to deliver person-centered care for residents with learning disabilities and autism in a residential setting.

The role involves personal care, activities, and documenting care plans, while promoting independence and community involvement. Full training, development opportunities, and a pension/benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Caring and respectful approach to supporting others.
• Ability to work flexibly and think innovatively.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are necessary to support our residents.
• Commitment to upholding professional standards, policies, and procedures.
• Experience in Learning Difficulties, Autism, Epilepsy and behaviours that challenge is an advantage but not essential as all training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
• Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
• Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
• Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
• Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
• Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
• Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.
• Work with the team to support residents to "Live Their Life" as independently as possible
