Dayshift Mechanical Engineer — Industrial Plant Maintenance

Job summary

Superglass, part of Etex's Insulation division in Stirling, is seeking a Dayshift Mechanical Engineer to keep the Stirling plant running. You will carry out planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across production equipment and building services, and support the installation of new plant.

Join a close-knit maintenance team with hands-on work on conveyors, gearboxes and rotating machinery. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with occasional 6am starts during planned shutdowns

Qualifications

• HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent by experience), or Level 3 apprenticeship.
• Mechanical engineering background relevant to industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience maintaining plant equipment (conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics).
• Process-oriented, autonomous, and able to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; comfortable using a CMMS.
• Able to move around the plant, stand/walk for long periods, and lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across the production plant and building services.
• Respond to maintenance requests in the CMMS and record work there.
• Start each shift by agreeing tasks with the team and perform daily checks.
• Work hands-on with conveyors, gearboxes and rotating equipment.
• Support installation of new plant and equipment per regulations and safety guidelines.
• Liaise with suppliers to arrange parts outside normal hours.
• Follow health and safety standards and participate in Kaizen and 5S.
